Sawtooth Caverns

Sawtooth Caverns, LLC is a joint venture established in 2018 between Magnum Development, NGL Energy Partners, Sawtooth Management, and Magnum Liquids, formerly a Haddington Ventures, LLC portfolio company. Sawtooth Caverns, LLC controls and operates Sawtooth NGL Caverns, the largest natural gas liquids (NGL) storage facility in the western United States, with 6.1 million barrels of capacity in five purpose-built NGL caverns that hold propane and butane. The five caverns were constructed between 2014 and 2018 in Delta, Utah.

Sawtooth Caverns is expanding its existing NGL storage and distribution capabilities to include refined products such as jet fuel, diesel, and motor gasoline. The joint venture gives Sawtooth Caverns the ability to develop five additional purpose-built caverns that can be sized to fit customer requirements of between 500,000 and 2,000,000 barrels each.

The facility is strategically located at a crossroads of existing infrastructure that includes access to the Union Pacific railroad, interstate highways, and the UNEV pipeline, which carries petroleum products from refineries near Salt Lake City, Utah, to the Las Vegas Valley at the Apex Industrial Park. Sawtooth Caverns offers a prime location for storing NGLs and refined products with direct access to key markets in the western U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
